Sustainable Approach

Stork & Co was born out of a need for smart products that weren’t available in the local market.

We create pieces with extra details or multiple functions and hope you pass them down through the generations.

As we grow and the collections expand, we continue to seek partners and suppliers who match our values and who are committed to doing better. We are constantly innovating on the sustainability of our products, we are so excited to share some of the reasons we choose the materials we do and the commitments we’ve made to ourselves & our community.

Why Organic?

We want to make clothing and accessories that look good, AND feel good! Organic cotton feels softer as it is free from harsh chemicals. It reduces allergic reactions and rashes as there are no GMOs, it is 100% natural. Another positive element to organic is it is kinder to the environment and it's farmers health. Research also shows that production of organic cotton causes 98% less water pollution than regular cotton.

What is GOTs certification?

Sustainable fashion, ethical clothing, fair production have many meanings. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) has a clearly defined set of criteria and is transparent.

GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain. GOTS certified final products may include fibre products, yarns, fabrics, clothes, home textiles, mattresses, personal hygiene products, as well as food contact textiles and more.

Having one common standard means textile processors and manufacturers can export their fabrics and garments with one organic certification that is accepted in all major markets. This transparency also gives consumers the power to choose truly organic products sourced from green supply chains.

Why Bamboo?

Bamboo fabric is a natural textile made from the pulp of bamboo grass. The Bamboo used to produce fabrics is easily replenished and requires no pesticides to grow. Bamboo is considered one of the most sustainable plants because it grows so quickly and does not require chemicals or irrigation and biodegrades more quickly than oil-based synthetics.

Bamboo is a powerhouse when it comes to protecting the plant’s resources. Maturing in only two years, it doesn’t require fertilizer or pesticides to grow quickly and strongly.

Bamboo clothing has a luxuriously soft fabric that is naturally hypoallergenic, moisture absorbent and quick drying.

Why Silicone?

Silicone is a fantastic alternative to plastic, we have seen a huge shift from plastic to silicone for products that are used on a daily basis.

Silicone is a flexible and durable material made up of silicon, oxygen and hydrogen atoms.

Our Commitment

Not all of our products are made from eco friendly materials but we are getting there! We still have a few to find the right suppliers for but we are committed to getting there within the next few years.
